Data Centre Deployment Systems Engineer

DATA CENTRE DEPLOYMENT SYSTEMS ENGINEER - CONTRACT - BELGIUM - EXCELLENT RATES!

We have a brand new exciting opportunity in Brussels for a Datacentre Deployment Systems Engineer! This is a Contract role and requires you to already hold NATO Clearance.

The successful candidate needs to have technical and programmatic skills that surround the installation, integration, development, migration and operations and maintenance of a large data centre.

THIS PERSON WILL:

- Define and maintain site related processes and procedures defining documentation and installation quality standards
- Document and maintain rack diagrams, cabling schemes, deployment diagrams and drawings
- Conduct site surveys and facility reviews in support of pre/post-deployment activities
- Coordinate with on-site customer and contractor staff regarding deployment, installation, upgrade and maintenance activities
- Coordinate support with vendors on the delivery of material to the site to include the logistics and asset management of the material
- Assist with installations, testing and maintenance of the deployable infrastructure
- Install components and assemblies into chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, and other related contract directed customer facilities
- Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting and updating design drawings, manuals or similar programmatic documents
- Facilitate on-site problem solving and debugging of issues/outages encountered
- Isolate and report malfunctions and discrepancies to the lowest definable levels
- Establish and perform maintenance programs following company and vendor standards
- Perform, conduct and document preventive maintenance checks required for the devices and associated subsystems
- Update maintenance data collection records and assist with the installation and check-out of deployment and configuration changes to equipment

Additional duties and related responsibilities will be assigned as required. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the engineering team located in the US and Brussels and contracting partners on site to fulfil program objectives. The successful candidate will implement and support program initiatives and policies as directed. They will comply with site security and access control procedures in accordance with the program and customer procedures. The successful candidate must have worked in an environment which required them to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature.

DESIRED & REQUIRED SKILLS:

- 5+ years engineering experience maintaining and troubleshooting information technology equipment
- Experience with one or more data centre infrastructure standards such as ANSI/TIA 942, ANSI/TIA 606 A 1, ANSI/BICSI 002
- Hold a NATO SECRET clearance
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Knowledge and experience with information technology hardware and software
- Ability to read and use technical schematics, drawings and manuals along with other technical materials to resolve complex problems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Visio
- Strong oral/written communication skills
- Proven hardware and software support experience in a server room/data centre environment
- Network troubleshooting and maintenance experience
- Experience working in classified/access controlled facilities
- Ability to brief/teach technical information to internal and external audiences
