DATA CENTRE ANALYST

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
To work within a global support team at our client site in Buc, South West of Paris.

POSITION: Data Centre Analyst

LOCATION: Buc, France

HOURS: 35 hour week

REQUIREMENTS

Good Understanding of

- Microsoft Windows Server
- UNIX (SCO)
- Linux (Red-Hat)
- WAN Technologies (CISCO, F5)
- LAN (TCP/IP and WIFI)

SKILLS/JOB ACTIVITIES

- Fluency in FRENCH AND ENGLISH is a must
- Coordinate with and take direction from facilities team
- Complete work orders within given SLA
- Insure Change Control policies are fully adhered to with all work orders and other data centre related activities
- Install hardware and provide connectivity according to client Standards
- Cable Servers in preparation for loading OS
- Manage shipping of old and delivery of new equipment
- Validate all essential tracking information
- Maintain records for assets to ensure all adds/deletes/changes are properly tracked and recorded into Asset Management Software
- Manage remote access connections (Avocent KVM/Cyclades Serial)
- Manage tape cataloguing and tape rotation
- Maintain tape library and vault, including off site rotation
- Assist L2 and L3 support teams in troubleshooting hardware/network issues (hands and feet at data center)
- Verify status lights on Servers and network connections
- Perform low-level repairs (replace Hot-Swap drives, etc.) as needed.
- Monitor data centre infrastructure for normal operation (water stains indicating leaks, abnormal sounds, hot-spots within room, etc.) and report any abnormalities to Strategic Facilities and/or Building Facilities Teams
- Submit requests to Maintenance and Contract Agents for various activities related to facilities and infrastructure
- Coordinate new or changing power requirements with local Facilities department (Electrical)
- Maintain data centres and all work spaces associated with the data centre in a clean and professional manner.
- Preventive maintenance - working in conjunction with the support team, identifying risks, prioritizing and taking action to mitigate potential issues
- Coordination of service efforts at the customer site
- Ability to define and document change control processes and execute in a highly regulated environment
- Test planning and execution
- Participation in regularly scheduled reviews with Customer
- Updating of operations documentation
- Data Centre availability, performance and utilisation auditing and reporting

Candidates must be eligible to work in France.
