This is a fantastic Data Center Support Resource opportunity to work with a leading Tech consultancy in Sydney, Australia.

Job Description:

- Assist the Data Center with the inventory and documentation of existing racks, equipment, cabling and power.
- Locally monitor the status of the systems within the facility andprovide an incidence response under the direction of the Data Center Manager and service desk
- Validate and update the tool when new systems are added, moved within the Data Center, or the equipment is removed from service.
- Verify receipt of equipment to the Data Center, install new equipment in locations designed by the Engineers and de-install equipment when systems are decommissioned.
- Conduct daily walk-throughs of the Data Center, correcting both appearance and functional imperfections and noting visible alarms of any kind.
- Perform basic maintenance on IT equipment such as installing/replacing network cards, hard drives, memory DIMMs, server reboots, etc.
- Serve as a Point of Contact (POC) for staff and contractors, present in the Data Center to perform activities in support of systems and equipment within the Data Center space.
- Vendor coordination and escorting vendors and guests.

Experience and Skill:

- Possess experience at a basic level of knowledge for the following Data Center and IT infrastructure areas.
- Data Centers, Space Planning, Rack Elevations (creating/reading/updating), Structured Cabling, Power Layout, Networking Concepts (Ethernet, TCP/IP, etc.), Storage Attached Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS) and attached storage devices, Tape Libraries
- 2-3+ years of related IT infrastructure experience
- Some hands-on IT hardware experience business/enterprise-grade Servers such as HP, and Cisco network equipment
- Previous experience working in a Data Center environment performing tasks such as racking and stacking , cable management, hot aisle/cold aisle containment.
- Familiarity with BMS systems, Microsoft Office products
