Data Center Operator

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a DATA CENTER OPERATOR to join our client in Carteret, NJ.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Under general supervision, the Data Center Operator monitors and controls a computer by operating the central console or on line terminals and ensures a stable operating environment and attaining maximum utilization of system facilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Operates and monitors systems and peripheral equipment
- Schedules production runs
- Performs system backup process
- Disaster recovery tests
- Supports systems on a single platform
- Generally follows documented procedures
- Assists in hardware maintenance, cable management, server installs, inventory controls for cables and Servers

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical components.
- Flexibility and responsiveness to changing situations will be required.
- Candidate needs to understand and be able to solve a wide array of problems with all type of data center hardware and software on the fly, or in an emergency.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

- Cabling experience and hardware troubleshooting experience are desired.
