Data Architect - Systems and Tools in Procurement and Sourcing

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The global Supply and Demand Management (SDM) department of a large financial institution is looking for a Data Architect to transform its systems and tools landscape. The data architect will be responsible for analysis, design and reconfiguration of the data architecture for the target landscape of systems and tools.
KEY TASKS INCLUDE:
- Integration of a selection of shelf software products covering the value chain (global Source-to-Pay (S2P) solution) as well as profit centre functionalities needed
- Incorporate the master data for the Procurement department into the newly- designed tool set. Define ownership of master data and how interfaces will be derived
- Create standard formats of data fields after consultation with stakeholders
- Define a data model in accordance with the principles of simplicity and ease of use for system consumers as well as attractive GUI screens
- Increase efficiencies, lower costs by reducing complexity, as well as achieve lower maintenance and enhance system performance
Person description:
The successful candidate will need to be agile and be able to traverse divergent streams of the project, in particular between Sourcing conduct gap analysis; recommend implementation plan, highlight achievable efficiencies in data and infrastructure utilisation
- Share Best of Breed solutions from other organizations
- Regularly report status updates to program management
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- BSc/MSc (or equivalent) in computer science, programming, data architecture or information management
- Strong knowledge of Source-to-Pay (S2P) processes and experience in evaluating and implementing S2P solutions
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems ( eg SAP, Baan, ABACUS Business Software)
- Fluency in written and spoken German (preferably Swiss German) AND English
- Familiarity with Hadoop a distinct advantage
- Communication and presentation skills
- Experience in data architecture design as well as prior successes in data base reengineering of tools and systems
- Experience in integrating processes and data across multiple data domains
- Experience in describing abstract concepts, designs and relationships within a data domain as it applies to many applications and products
