Data Architect - Pentaho

DATA WAREHOUSE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER (6 MONTH DAILY RATE CONTRACT)

A leading finical niche firm are currently seeking a Data Warehouse Architect/Engineer to drive a new DW/ETL migration project. Dublin city centre based.

Excellent daily rates on offer.

Functions/Objectives:
- Build a project plan by gathering all necessary requirements from relevant departments and by analysing existing DW/ETL structure
- Design and implement (dimensional) DW database structure (IBM DB2)
- Design and implement ETL system using Pentaho (migration from custom build Java toolset)
- Migrate existing reports (and design new ones as required) from Crystal Reports to Pentaho
- Provide training to non IT staff on Report building and design
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all relevant systems/processes

Essential Qualifications/Experience:
- 5 years+ experience in developing, integrating, deploying and managing complex Data Warehousing ETL solutions
- 3 years+ industry experience working with Pentaho
- 1 year+ working experience with IBM DB2 (ideally)
- Proven track record of working in Financial Services sector

Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient in database design and administration
- Excellent technical analysis and Datamodelling skills
- Excellent documentation skills

Personal Skills:
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Desire to increase knowledge and to learn new and/or improve skills
