Data Architect Modeller

Data Architect Modeller, ideally with scientific bent to work in Canberra for 6 months on IM solution.

SKILLS:

- Sound understanding of data architecture principles and practices in the scientific context, including SOA concepts.
- Strong technical expertise in data and information modelling (physical and logical), RDBMS, XML, XML Schema, Schematron and Datamodelling tools.
- Demonstrated experience in the design and management of spatial and/or scientific datasets, and an understanding of how they can be repurposed and re-used for cross-disciplinary science.
- High level knowledge of relevant international scientific and database standards.
- Extremely well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

- Develop a high level conceptual data architecture.
- Contribute to data architecture issues on specific in-flight data intensive projects.
- Develop a roadmap for data platforms, including service enablement, Datamodelling and data architecture.
- Develop the concept of data platform patterns, where different scientific data types are delivered via different, yet inter-related patterns.
- Consult and advise on data architecture, participating in the Data Model Implementation Sub-committee, and assisting data custodians and projects across plan for an enterprise approach to data platforms.

AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP is a requirement of this role.
