DATA ARCHITECT needed for a LONG-TERM CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Charlotte, NC.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS POSITION DOES NOT ALLOW FOR WORKING REMOTELY, AS SUCH THE INCUMBENT MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ONSITE IN CLIENT'S CHARLOTTE, NC LOCATION.

- EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse)

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The Data Architect position is focused on defining data management best practices within the department while designing and implementing data solutions to meet project requirements.
- This position is expected to deliver data solutions that adhere to enterprise standards and meet, if not exceed, the information needs of all of the stakeholders in terms of information availability, security, and quality.
- Establishing best practices for data management while adhering to enterprise standards
- Designing and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Analyzing business requirements in order to design the data solution on projects
- Developing the logical and physical designs for data solutions, including the design, build and implementation/extension of application databases, the Enterprise Operational Data Store (ODS), the Enterprise Data Warehouse, data marts, etc.
- Collaborating with the appropriate individuals (Subject Matter Experts, System Architects, DBAs, etc.) to design and implement the appropriate data solution
- Assisting with the design of data integration solutions
- Working with application administrators, users, IT staff and vendors to manage data architecture enhancements and issues
- Acting as subject matter expert and making recommendations and providing technical counsel to IT staff and end-user departments, as necessary
- Providing expertise in SQL query writing and data management
- Collaborating with the ETL Architecture and System Architecture teams to define and implement standards for ETL and application design and development and utilization of the appropriate methodologies

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
- Applicants should be self-motivated individuals with excellent communication skills who possess the desired qualifications in this requisition and who work well in a collaborative environment.
- THIS IS A PURELY DATA ARCHITECTURE ROLE. MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH PHYSICAL DATA MODELS. BE ABLE TO WRITE SQL, PL/SQL, DB2 AND Oracle.
- PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE LEADING DEVELOPERS
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience with data analysis, data modelling, data architecture and SQL query writing
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational, problem solving and collaboration skills
- Ability to work with general supervision
- Experience in data architecture development practices and tools
- Experience with designing and implementing solutions for relational database management systems

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience working in the gas or electric utility industries, preferred
- Experience using the CA ERwin tool for data modelling, preferred
- Experience with the Microsoft reporting and analytics suite of products, preferred
