Data Architect- Finance

I have a great opportunity to working for a leading financial services company based in Edinburgh. My client is looking for a strong data architect to assist in the development of a group wide enterprise data model, with the primary objective of aligning understanding of business terms/definition. Y ou will work with the business and technology services to support the delivery target architectures and optimise chosen solutions to meet the strategic needs of the business. You will be involved in major programmes to scope and architect designs proposing end-to-end solutions and highlighting trade-offs. their will be an emphasis on developing and agreeing logical data models and business glossary.

KEY DUTIES:

- Review on going designs of major programmes to identify strategic opportunities and resolve design issues during detailed design phased and delivery.
- Define and apply standards and methods to ensure consistent Datamodelling by projects;
- Provide support with training and educating business/technology in Datamodelling;
- Provide hands on Datamodelling support to projects across the bank
- Review and assure complex data architecture and design solutions against strategic targets
- Support development of target data architectures and roadmaps
- Identify opportunities for synergy across programmes and franchises
- Produce Architecture Definition Documents where appropriate
- Define, maintain and enhance best practice and standards in data architecture

KEY SKILLS:

- Experience of working in a banking or financial reporting environment
- structured Datamodelling tools
- experience with different modelling pardigms such as Kimball/Inmon.
- Understanding of architectural methods such as Zachman and TOGAF.
- Understanding of database design, ETL and Data Quality tools.
