DATA ARCHITECT WANTED FOR OUR INTERNATIONAL END CLIENT IN THE HAGUE!

End: 01-03-2013, option to extend

As part of its IT Roadmap our client has started modernizing its approach to Knowledge and Information Management. They are currently implementing MongoDB as a repository for data collection, covering bibliographic data, full text and drawings in order to serve new search engines for indexing and retrieval.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

1. On-demand advise on Data Architecture
a. review of current data model
b. advise best practices for data usage patterns
c. document data architecture implementation patterns & best practices
d. review and validation of our REST interface design (based on HATEOAS principles)

2. On-demand Review current data loading strategy & implementation
a. provide best practices for Data Integration patterns
b. review the code base (Java/Spring/CAMEL technologies), advising on best practices and design patterns
c. Error and performance monitoring.
d. Performance management.
e. Backup and failover strategy
f. System and database tuning.
g. Periodical health checkups
h. Integration within client environment (both operational and monitoring)

3. On-demand Review and steer scalability requirements
a. review & validate current sharding setup
b. document scalability and sharding patterns to be applied

4. Provide pre-production support on MongoDB

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

Expected deliverables are documents (reviews, findings, reference architectures, links to best practices, written answers to technical questions) as pragmatic code and configuration examples that suit our client's use cases.

You are expected to be available during working hours to answer questions with on-site presence up to 2 days per week, in agreement with the Technical Manager. Answers to technical questions are expected within the next 8 hours.

SKILLS YOU WILL BRING:

- Database and NOSQL data store usage & administration experience in heterogeneous systems.

LONG WORK EXPERIENCE WITH:

- large NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB
- Java/Springsource/REST technologies
- Data Integration, especially Apache Camel
- The Service Provider must ensure the consultants have excellent English communication skills both orally as in writing.
- Proven aptitudes to cooperate with other engineering areas covering diverse technical specialties.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
