Data Analyst - Top Secret Clearance w/SSBI Job

DATA ANALYST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Herndon, VA.

POSSESSION OF A TOP SECRET CLEARANCE W/SSBI IS REQUIRED AS A CONDITION FOR EMPLOYMENT.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Active Top Secret w/SSBI Clearance required
- SQL reporting
- Sybase Database
- UNIX, Shell Scripting

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The candidate will be involved in the generation of SQL reports as well as the analysis and correction data in a Sybase database using SQL.
- Strong data analytical skills and experience with the ability to communicate is a must.
- Basic understanding of UNIX, Shell Scripting, Stored procedures, relational databases, and Perl is needed.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and independently with minimum management oversight.
- Must be extremely attentive to detail as the successful candidate will be reporting on and modifying production data for the customer.
- Must possess high energy and strong motivation to make a difference. The work is fast paced with changing priorities.
- Task switching without loss of productivity is a must.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering or computer field.
- At least one (1) year of Sybase SQL and UNIX Shell Scripting experience.
- Data analysis experience - minimum of one (1) year, one to three (1-3) years is preferred
- Sybase SQL experience - minimum of one (1) year, one to three (1-3) years is preferred
- Experience with UNIX, Shell Scripting, and Perl
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Common office software skills (Word, Excel, Visio)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written forms
- Demonstrated ability to work within deadlines and schedules
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and workloads
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn emerging technologies.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

- An ongoing three (3) year contract to provide Operational and Maintenance support for the Joint Personnel Security System (JPAS), a system owned by the DOD Defense Manpower Data Center. This includes work in the full software development life cycle.
- The JPAS team shall perform maintenance activities of change management, problem management, performance management and capacity management.
- The JPAS team shall sustain and support the JPAS application in both the production and test environments.
- The JPAS team shall perform maintenance activities that includes completing maintenance and enhancement releases to the application and interface modules, technology refresh, technology insertion, technical obsolescence risk management, resolution to identified security issues, and data correction requests.
