Data Analyst - Secret Clearance Job

DATA ANALYST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Seaside, CA.

POSSESSION OF A DOD SECRET CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED AS A CONDITION FOR EMPLOYMENT.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- The candidate will be involved in the development of SQL queries for use in Ad Hoc Reports, analysis of data quality, and data manipulation within a Sybase database.
- Possession of a DoD Secret Clearance.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The candidate will be involved in the development of SQL queries for use in Ad Hoc Reports, analysis of data quality, and data manipulation within a Sybase database.
- Strong data analytical skills and experience with the ability to communicate is a must.
- Solid working knowledge of UNIX commands and development and execution of UNIX Shell Scripts, database stored procedures, and work with relational databases and tables are needed.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and independently with minimum management oversight.
- Must be extremely attentive to detail as the successful candidate will be reporting on and modifying production data for the customer.
- Must possess high energy and strong motivation to make a difference. The work is fast paced with changing priorities.
- Task switching without loss of productivity is a must.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering or computer field.
- At least five (5) years of Sybase SQL and UNIX Shell Scripting experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written forms;
- Demonstrated ability to work within deadlines and schedules; Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and workloads;
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn emerging technologies.
- Data analysis experience - minimum of 5 years
- Sybase SQL experience - minimum of 5 years
- Experience with UNIX, Shell Scripting, and Perl
- Experience writing new UNIX Shell Scripts and complex, multi-table ad hoc database queries using SQL
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Common office software skills (Word, Excel, Visio)
