Data Analyst - Finance - Banking

Our client, a large financial services organisation, is currently undergoing a considerable reporting solution. They are looking for a Data Analyst, for a 3 month contract, to be based in Edinburgh.

As a Data Analyst you will be responsible for improving the reporting area, making reporting easier and more credible.

Data Analyst Key Deliverables:

Understand the critical MI we need to hold and produce, what format we want to present it and how data is calculated.

Identify all data sources and flows including any conflicting and duplicate data.

Cleanse all data to make sure that it is accurate and up-to-date.

Identify or create the minimum number of data repositories to hold single version of each piece of MI

Identify any data gaps

Ensure processes are in place to maintain data refresh and integrity and drive accountability for data quality.

Build a reporting capability that allows standard and ad-hoc reports to be produced

Transfer knowledge to the team to produce reports and ensure ongoing data integrity

Ensure that we adhere to RBS policy on records management information security and data handling (including data protection act principles)

Data Analyst Required Skills:

Extensive experience of working as a Data Analyst

Previous Financial Services experience would be highly beneficial

Previous experience of building a tool for MI reporting
