Data Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Business Analyst will be responsible for reporting internal and external requirements to the regulatory agency in connection with grid modernization work. The annual reports include information regarding infrastructure investment, performance, metrics and milestones, and jobs. In addition to external reports, the Business Analyst will be responsible for assembling internal reports presented to the leadership and senior team. The Business Analyst will also support ad hoc presentations, events, data requests, and research projects. The Business Analyst's activities include working closely with other members of the Project Management Office team, grid modernization program managers, HR, Finance, Legal, and contractors; data gathering and coordination; data system input; facilitation of meetings, reviews, and approvals; and technical work to produce data views, tables, and charts. The Business Analyst may have to facilitate meetings or follow up on information required to prepare reports. The department is responsible for governance and reporting.

SKILLS:

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelors degree preferred
- 5 years experience
- Strong Business Intelligence and Data Analysis. Must be familiar with working in databases and extracting information for presentation and to help guide the business.
- Strong communication skills

o Must work with various departments, teams, and contractors
o Must be comfortable conducting calls to gather data and resolve issues
- Impeccable attention to detail, strong organization skills

o Must work with large volumes of data, documents, and presentations for the senior team or regulatory filings
o Must juggle numerous work streams and projects at once
- Strong skills with Microsoft Access
- Strong skills with Microsoft Excel
- Strong skills with Microsoft SharePoint 2007/2010, including data integration and customizations (experience with SharePoint Designer preferred)
- Experience with basic SQL
- Experience with Business Intelligence tool (QlikView preferred)

o Must design and develop dashboards, as necessary - Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and .NET, or understanding of Object Oriented Programming
- Looking for people who can extract and present information from databases
