Data Analyst

DESCRIPTION:

Most of the work will be around documenting architecture standards and defining data elements/models.  We are looking for a IT person with knowledge in databases (we do not need a developer or DBA) to support the Enterprise Architecture/Information objectives.

Length of Assignment 6 months+

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

- Proven success in working with different roles and teams in IM and the business
- 2-5 years related experience in Application Development, Database Design and/or Data warehousing
- Prior experience in the Oil & Gas industry is preferred but not required
- Ability to utilize a broad range of tool sets to support multiple applications (ERwin, Oracle, SQL Server, Microsoft Office products, SharePoint, Visio, etc.)

DATA ANALYST RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist in documenting Information Architecture Standards, such as naming standards, life cycle & retention, Datamodelling, security, etc.
- Define and document data element definitions
- Document data as conceptual/logical data models
- Analyst data to recommend standardization
- Report on data and data activities related to the IA roadmap

TECHNICAL/JOB COMPETENCIES:

- Champions and communicates visions of proper data usage within the business and IM to ensure data integrity
- Works with IA to design, develop and maintain our enterprise data elements
- Works with EA team to utilize data models and data documentation in architecture diagrams and other artifacts
- Works closely with the IM BI and development teams on good data usage practices
- Work closely with business users to identify and define requirements
- Must be a self starter with the ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work effectively on tight deadlines as necessary
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of people
