Cyber Security Engineer - Public Sector - Cloud-Based Capabilities

Our client in the public sector, have a fantastic opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer to join them. Candidates will need the following skills and experience:

•Hands-ons experience with Microsoft security solutions
•Excellent technical ability with a multitude of security technologies.
•Excellent understanding of systems engineering frameworks and methods.
•Excellent understanding of Cloud technologies and services.
•Excellent understanding of technical threats and risks associated with Cloud Services.
•Experience delivering security solutions for public and private cloud hosted services, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
•Previous experience with Agile projects and continuous integration.
•Able to work under own volition, and as a constructive member of a larger team.
•Ideally Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or any relevant technical qualification for the role (such as vendor certificates or penetration testing)

You will be responsible for the delivery of physical and component level designs for security capabilities defined by the Security Architect. They will also be responsible for the hands-on implementation and configuration of security solutions in operational systems.

The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for the production of an interim physical design, aligned against the security architecture roadmap, for cloud-based capabilities:

•Security Information and Event Management
•Trust Management
•Cryptography and Key Management
•Threat and Vulnerability Management
•Identity and Access Management
•Business resilience Management

You will also establish a development environment and execute a series of Proofs of Concept for technology evaluation and selection under the guidance of the Cyber Security Architect as well as acting as the focal point for security engineering advice and guidance to operational support teams.

Candidates must already hold Disclosure Scotland clearance or higher.
