Security Consultant
Based in the NATO facility in Belgium, The Client requires experienced IT security professionals to be part of this leading edge capability for Cyber Defence.
Responsibilities/Duties
The Security Tools Analysts will be supporting the security event analysts in cyber defence operation and will maintain, update and tune the tools configurations to match the threat environment.
Qualifications/Experience
A Degree or equivalent in IT or a related science or mathematics subject.
At least two years' experience in Cyber Security, incident detection, network and systems security tool configuration or analysis
SANS GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) or equivalent
Arcsight or Source Fire Certified OEM Training
Experience or qualifications in network and systems monitoring and support.
SC and DV cleared (NATO equivalent)
Essential Skills
A motivated, self-managed individual who is willing to help design and adapt a constantly evolving service. Someone who can demonstrate above average analytical skills and liaise professionally with peers and NATO stakeholders, even under pressure.
A sound knowledge of IT security best practice, common attack types and detection/prevention methods.
Demonstrable experience of analysing and interpreting system, security and application logs in order to diagnose faults and spot abnormal behaviours
Experience of maintaining a secure network through configuring and managing typical Security Enforcing Devices, such as Firewalls, Proxies, IDS/IPS devices, EPO. Knowledge of SNORT/Sourcefire.
In depth experience of other common devices, such as Routers, Switches, hubs. Troubleshooting Windows environments
Must be capable of communicating clearly with team members and other analysts. Able to demonstrate reading, writing and spoken English to NATO IS level III as a minimum. (B1 of the Council of Europe/Association of Language Testers in Europe official levels)
Desirable Skills
Exposure to IT service management best practices such as ITIL
Experience of using SIEM tools such as ArcSight, LogLogic, Sourcefire, Symantec Endpoint
Software engineering, programming or Scripting knowledge. Java, .Net.
An understanding of Information Security; relating to the Confidentiality, Integrity and availability of information
Candidates with a current security clearance are strongly encouraged to apply
