Customs Duty Optimisation Specialist

Robert Half Management Resources are recruiting for an Interim Customs Duty Optimisation Specialist for a Pharmaceuticals organization. Contract duration through to end of February 2015. Based in Middlesex.

THE ROLE

The role is for the Customs Duty Management programme that is focused on introducing controlled Customs Duty Management processes with improved governance & reporting, putting in place a trusted source of Customs Duty information available globally and ensuring that Customs Duty optimisation practices are Embedded across the value chain.

Key responsibilities:

- Work closely the business to identify and create a pipeline of potential duty optimisation initiatives/opportunities across the enterprise
- Facilitating workshops to develop and agree the pipeline of ideas with the relevant parties
- Manage the implementation of selected initiatives
- Development of database for the details of the special regimes in use across the organisation
- Documentation of standard process and work flows for implementation of regimes
- Identifying issues and risks
- Development and implementation of compliance metrics and controls
- Development and roll out of training material

YOUR PROFILE

- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a customs or duty management role
- Strong communication and people skills
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to extensively analyse and develop business processes and workflows
- Experience facilitating workshops and focus groups
- Strong business engagement skills
- Ability to produce documentation to a high standard
- Experience of developing compliance processes
- Highly effective change management and problem resolution skills
- Strong leadership backed up by considerable influencing abilities
- Capable project management expertise and strong commitment to continuous improvement
- Process management skills - ability to define and deliver new ways of working based on the organisation and (distribution) industry best practice
- Working knowledge of Free Trade agreements and preferential duty rules
- Working knowledge of other customs duty related special regimes/provisions
- Working knowledge of HTS classification.
- Working knowledge of customs procedures.

THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading Pharmaceutical Organisation.
