Cross Functional S/W Development Manager/Chicago Bank/180K

A large financial firm in the Chicago Loop is in need of a Software Development Manager to direct multiple projects and support activities for several Application Development teams that each work on different client facing websites. The manager will have to be a proactive and innovative problem solver, and have strong leadership and prioritizing skills.

Responsibilities include:

- Planning long-term technology strategies
- Managing and maintaining business and vendor relationships
- Budget planning for all necessary expenses and capital
- Estimating time and cost for projects
- Delegating tasks and overseeing employees, contract projects, and support teams
- Supervising daily workloads
- Successfully carrying out of application enhancements.
- Lead 20+ application development employees
- Ensuring compliance with all audit, security, and risk management requirements
- Collaborate with Website architects to identify, build, and implement shared solutions
- Carry out performance management and career development processes
- Implementing disciplinary actions and providing hands-on training to staff

Qualifications include:

- * Prior experience managing a Shared Services Team *
- Strong background in Java/J2EE
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Understanding Waterfall and Agile development methodologies
- Ability to implement website security and risk agendas
- Previous managerial experience of a medium to large development (At least 5 years)
- Experience leading teams involved with
- Extremely strong leadership, listening, and communication skills
- Strong understanding of the following:

* Web application development/Web Frameworks
* Service Oriented Architectures
* Distributed environments
* Oracle database technologies
* Various website application designs and programming techniques
* Business knowledge of Financial Services
