Crisis Management/Disaster Recovery Specialist - Contract-to-Hire

The consultant selected for this opportunity will manage and provide expert consultation and execution in supporting a highly visible, sensitive and multi-faceted crisis management program. This professional will be responsible for collaboratively managing and executing highly complex program initiatives, goals, and projects. In addition, this professional will provide high-quality and cost effective project management, analytic support services, and both process and technical expertise for a broad array of IT issues. Sound judgment must be exercised within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining the best results.

.* As a key member of the crisis management team, this professional is required to be on call 24 hours per day and may be contacted via telephone, paging system, or email during off-duty hours or as conditions warrant..*

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Will be responsible for the following, however may perform additional duties of similar complexity as required or assigned:

50% Critical Issue Management, Coordination and Support
Utilize your experience with Incident Management, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery in providing expert coordination and support during significant technology outages and incidents
Provide executive incident notification, communication and reports during significant technology outages, 24x7
Provide reporting and analytics supporting the life cycle of significant technology outages
Analyze data and develop recommendations and action plans
Manage successful project delivery through disciplined project management processes

50% Crisis Management Consultation, Coordination and Management
Design, develop, implement and maintain crisis management plans, training, exercises, and drills
Provide integrated planning, design and execution for cross-organizational IT crisis management exercises which includes incident management, crisis management, business continuity and disaster recovery functions
Close collaboration with senior IT Leaders, business partners, and various functions throughout the organization to advance the crisis management capabilities of IT
Beyond robust and effective project management skills, you must be highly effective in communication: highly developed verbal, written, and presentation skills are all mandatory
Design processes to address both anticipated and identified problems (both technical and non-technical process design)
Accountable for the development of crisis management documentation for senior executives and other key clients to facilitate sharing of program outcomes and best practices
Plans and facilitates trainings and meetings for different levels of audiences

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations, Information Technology, or other related fields

Experience
8+ years of progressive experience in Incident Management, Crisis Management, Business Continuity, and/or IT Disaster Recovery, including significant experience designing and facilitating large-scale business continuity exercises and drills
8+ years of technical and organizational project management experience with at least 5+ years' experience managing large-scale cross-organizational projects and program initiatives
4+ years of IT Problem/Issue Management experience (managing, preventing, reviewing, recommending and closing IT critical issues)
Experience in IT environments is required
Project Management (PMP) certification or equivalent preferred
Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret quantitative and qualitative analyses
Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) preferred

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Detail-oriented, successful track record of coordinating between multiple project stakeholders, technical program managers and business alliance
Ability to manage priorities, perform multiple tasks and work under dynamic environment and tight deadlines
Demonstrated ability to determine key business issues and develop appropriate action plans from multi-disciplinary perspectives
Highly effective leadership, project management, and consulting skills
The ability to work under pressure and in challenging settings. Must be assertive and personable
