CREDIT OPERATIONS MANAGER

We are looking to recruit an experienced CREDIT OPERATIONS MANAGEr to work within a FINANCIAL SERVICES company based in LEICESTER.

The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Credit and to act as deputy to the Senior Credit Underwriter when assessing the credit and risk profiles of customers. The candidate must have a background in Credit and Conduct Risk, Underwriting, and a good knowledge of Pensions and Real Estate.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Deliver post-sanction administration to ensure timely release of Facility Letters, Valuation Instructions, and Legal instructions.

Maintain all records for each case including clear sanction audit trail to meet Section 166 requirements.

Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and guidelines together with all appropriate regulatory and statutory requirements, implementing actions to protect the Bank's business at all times.

Ensure that facilities have had the correct legal documents issued, that they are executed correctly and that all legal formalities including, where appropriate, the giving of independent legal advice, have been effectively completed.

Communicate relevant information and data to team members, senior management and other interested parties ensuring essential features of the situation are understood, enabling informed decisions to be taken where appropriate.

Develop, manage and review strategies for those cases at risk, involving other bank departments as necessary, to best manage the Bank's risk, and consider and respond to specialist reports produced in order to produce a revised case assessment.

Maintain information systems providing data on credit proposals, sanctions and declines to enable the Bank to identify areas of risk.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills developed from a credit based background

An understanding of the legal process in perfecting bank security including the review of property valuation reports.

A generic knowledge of the commercial environment and sector specialism including Pensions, Real Estate lending and the SME market;

A good understanding of Conduct Risks and TCF requirements relevant to Credit Operations;

A good level of financial and commercial awareness.
