CPRD Programme Manager

Eingestellt von Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency

Gesuchte Skills: Support, Client

Projektbeschreibung

The Organisation

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.

CPRD, jointly funded by the agency and the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), is the UK's preeminent research service providing access to anonymised NHS data for research. CPRD services are designed to maximise the way anonymised NHS clinical data can be used to improve and safeguard public health. For more than 20 years data provided by CPRD has been used in a range of observational studies such as drug safety and epidemiological research resulting in over 1500 publications. The UK is in a unique global position to use clinical records in novel ways for patient recruitment and clinical trials management and follow up. CPRD is at the forefront of this innovation and is developing services and tools to support a growing portfolio of clinical intervention studies.

Purpose of Role:

CPRD has widely adopted a programme managed approach across interventional and observational activities for their successful delivery. It is understood that the successful delivery of studies is very much dependent upon the planning and preparation stages which requires the full time activity of a dedicated Programme Manager in the planning, execution and oversight of activities.

One of the clear dependencies within all CPRD projects is technology and associated data processing. This involves the procurement and/or development of software tools that can be applied to provide near to real-time data for the studies. Implementing such software tools and the configuration of data capture technologies require activities prior to study initiation. In CPRD interventional research areas, clients acknowledge CPRD's activities need to start early in time for first patient randomised. Due to a large 'up-front' effort there is a strong focus upon having in place contracts with agreed milestone payments, where a percentage is charged upon signature of contract to cover for these and other necessary activities. As such, work has been commenced in developing a streamlined process which now needs to be taken forward and managed within the framework of the differing studies by a dedicated Programme Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver Project and Programme management across all client facing commercial areas of work which CPRD operates, working to recognised standards, using tools to inform a disciplined approach to strategy and planning.
• Developing and implementing plans, contracts and standards for new and existing projects and programmes of work to meet Government, DH, MHRA and CPRD best practice.
• Protecting and enhancing CPRD's reputation and delivery capabilities; demonstrate to existing and potential customers and stakeholders that we are serious about delivery.
• Provide expert advice and leadership on Project and Programme Management.
• People Management to deliver across the CPRD organisation where there is often no line management responsibility for staff on a project.
