Cost Engineer

Engineering & Construction client is looking for a Project Cost Engineer with 5-10 years of cost analysis & cost engineering experience on heavy industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate has experience supporting transmission line or substation EPC projects. This is a long term Contract opportunity near Allentown, PA. Per diem provided for candidates not local.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead cost reviews and what-if scenarios with Project Manager and other Functional Managers
- Review and track budgets in support of Project accountabilities
- Review Program reports to verify data, fees and any other calculations
- Review monthly cost downloads from financial systems & update monthly status of quantity & baseline budgets, cash flows, manpower plans, histograms, and progress
- Manage the monthly cost reporting effort in cooperation with the Project Management Team (PMT)
- Assist and complete special project reporting as assigned
- Oversight of Auditing processes of contractor's invoicing and payment schedules
- Coordinate review of contractor budgets with contractual Schedules of Value

REQUIREMENTS

- 7+ years of cost analysis & cost engineering experience on heavy industrial construction projects (ideally T&D or Power Plant) EPC projects
- Experience with Earned Value Analysis, Cost Forecasting and Cost Analysis in support of EPC projects
- BS degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Oracle applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Any experience in contractual issues such as claims, lump-sum, unit rate, and target price contracts would be a PLUS
