Cost Analyst - Glasgow OR Dunfermline

* COST ANALYST - GLASGOW OR DUNFERMLINE - 3 MONTHS.*

Our utilities client has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced COST ANALYST based in GLASGOW OR DUNFERMLINE to be responsible for undertaking comparative analysis, trending and forecasting of cost projects within a capital programmes to support the cost intelligence teams.

The role will involve performing audits of costing projects, quality assuring and approving these at key project stages, securing required information and audit trail for stakeholders. The objective of this brief is to obtain a technical resource that will quality assure projects and provide feedback to estimators who develop project cost build-ups.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Review capital project estimates within the engineering estimating system for mathematical and technical accuracy.
- Review capital project estimates against project documentation (scope of works, drawings, plans etc..)
- Check projects estimates have been coded correctly within the estimating system.
- Assure final account data is allocated correctly against work breakdown structures at the end of capital projects.
- Maintain an audit history for all submitted projects.
- Prepare quality audit report on all submitted projects and present learning points back to estimating staff.
- Perform root cause analysis on the failed projects with the QA process, to determine a more efficient solution to workings
