The Corporate Systems Integrator (SITS, SQL) role

The University of Winchester uses a number of SQL Server based corporate systems which are central to the operation of the University. These include systems which deal with student records, finance, human resources, the library, conferences, room bookings, and accommodation. The University is implementing a new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system which requires tight integration with a number of these systems, in particular our student records system, SITS.

The post holder will be primarily responsible for managing this system integration, working closely with the CRM project manager within Marketing on the analysis and implementation. There will also be opportunities to be involved in many aspects of development and support for our other corporate systems. In all cases, the post holder will show a methodical and meticulous attitude towards all aspects of the role, particularly those of documentation and implementation.

Main duties and responsibilities of the Corporate Systems Integrator (SITS, SQL)

• Ensuring the CRM system integrates effectively with our SITS student records system and, where viable, with other third party systems in use. This will include assisting the CRM project manager with mapping the business processes and data flows involved, and developing solutions to maximise efficiency
• Corporate systems development and support
• Scheduling and performing upgrades and hotfixes
• Liaising with third party suppliers
• Maintaining existing interfaces between corporate systems and developing new ones where required
• Working with end users of the corporate systems with regard to best use of the systems and their data
• Providing support for corporate systems related issues
• Raising and progressing support calls with corporate system helpdesks
• Performing data queries
• Documentation of system configurations
• Advising the Senior Corporate Systems Developer and the Applications Infrastructure Manager with regard to technical issues

• SITS
• Understanding of database technology (MS SQL Server)
• Data querying using SQL
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Strong planning / organisation skills
