CORPORATE STRATEGY TEAM MEMBER

Short term urgent need to commence working on the development of corporate strategy for the new government owned company that is being created, until permanent recruits can be placed. Possible extension until recruits are in post.

ASSIGNMENT

Development of plans and delivery of tasks towards achievement of new corporate team function to set up and enable new organisational regime to be established. Provisions of ah-hoc tasks to support chief executive, chairman and board members

Outputs to include plans, programmes, documents, presentations etc as required.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

- Good drafting skills
- Good interpersonal and networking skills
- Understanding of public sector and transport knowledge

DESIRABLE SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

Project management skills

ROLE PURPOSE:

Supporting the clients Board and Senior Management Team (SMT) in the development, implementation and communication of the client's future corporate strategy priorities.

Supporting the Corporate Group Leader (CGL) in the management, governance and day-to-day business related activity of the client Board and its sub groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the Corporate Strategy Team Leader (CGL) in the development of a programme of work to support the client Board and SMT in setting out the clients future strategic direction.

Support the wider business; in development and implementation of new policy areas, provide advice and guidance on relevant existing strategy and policy frameworks - working with colleagues in the parent company, partners from the supply chain and key stakeholders.

Support Corporate Group's other functions when required; including the management, governance and day-to-day business activity of the client Board, to facilitate knowledge transfer whilst improving the group's capability.

Support and work alongside the change programme team; ensuring that developing themes and their likely impact feed into the work of the corporate strategy team, and vice-versa with the roads reform agenda/feasibility study outcome.

Support the Corporate Strategy Team Leader in the; preparation of the team's administrative and reporting requirements, including financial forecasts and directorate scorecard reporting, and contribute to development of the team's future role and direction within the client
