To co-ordinate and manage a diverse range of professionals (Valuers, Architects, Building Surveyors, Building Cost Accountants, Maintenance Surveyors, and associated Legal and Finance professionals) involved in the delivery of a comprehensive property function. Ensuring that these various experts are welded into a team motivated to meeting the success criteria of the service. Ensuring that the roles, responsibilities and delegated financial (and other) authorities for each key member are clearly defined.
To provide professional and technical advice on property and valuation issues at the highest level within and outside the Authority
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Degree or relevant professional qualification in Estate Management or property valuations with at least 7 years experience within a Public Authority or large commercial undertaken; of which 3 years must have been in a management capacity.
- Experience of procuring large scale mixed use development, including planning, monitoring and implementation.
- A sound knowledge of town planning practice, procurement or property development.
- Understanding of the challenges posed by providing quality public services in a multi-cultural inner city area.
- Understanding of the workings of local government, the current and future issues to be faced and financial, legal political context of public sector management.
- Financial management including budget preparation, resource planning and monitoring.
- Knowledge and understanding of legislation and major legislative issues applicable to property management, valuation, construction and maintenance.
