Our client is seeking a Corporate Business Analyst with experience in Geosciences, Land, and Drilling.

The Geosciences, Land, and Drilling Business Analyst is responsible for all aspects of assessing the business needs of the Geoscience, Land, Drilling, and Corporate departments for our Client, developing a solution, and assisting in the implementation of the solution.

Our Client does not have a "traditional" IT team, but rather an Automation & Technology Team that works as peers with their key business units.

Being a highly automated company, the A&T Team is Embedded in virtually all aspects of their business operations and project activities.Role and Responsibilities

- Requirements interviewing, gathering, documentation, and analysis
- Assistance in product selection and structured/traceable product and vendor analysis
- Data design and architecture
- Analysis, development, and design of cross application/data interfaces
- Definition, configuration, and optimization of reporting and trending
- User interface design and development
- Perform/assist with application configuration
- Design and conduct User training
- Application fine tuning and optimization
- Application and data backup and recovery, including data synchronization
- Assure complete architectural, operational, training, and maintenance documentation
- Manage vendors and service partners
- Assist with operational support.

Qualifications

Required Technical Skills: - University undergrad degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related area
- Previous experience in a startup or small company environment
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in an oil company
- SAGD experience preferred
- Proficient in administering various Microsoft application and data components such as MS Windows Server, MS Windows 7, MS SQL Server, MS IIS
- Proven experience designing, implementing, configuring, and tuning web based applications, data base Servers using 3rd normal form, reporting systems
- Thorough understanding of 3 tier architected information systems
- Understanding of strong security, authorization, authentication, and audit services
- Understanding of virtualization technologies (Servers, storage, networking and PCs)
- Knowledgeable in Geoscience, Land, Drilling, Corporate (such as Finance and Human Resources) applications and the data models and workflows
- Proven ability to communicate and present information to all levels of the business (from technical staff to executives)
- Always looking for a new challenge
- Ability to prioritize work on a daily basis in order to work in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong requirements gathering and analysis skills
- Knowledge of programming and development skills, including design, architecture, implementation, optimization, testing, and training
- Creative, innovative, and "out of the box" type thinker
- Ability to write up succinct, brief decision summaries for solution/service recommendations
- Proven solid and logical troubleshooter, capable of finding root cause quickly
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills
- Has a continuous improvement mentality and approach to work.
