Corporate Accountant

12 month fixed term contractAn outstanding opportunity has arisen with our client, a leading investment management company based in Edinburgh. Our client is a highly regarded business with the Scottish market. They are looking for a qualified accountant with investment management experience to join the Corporate Reporting team. The purpose of the role is to ensure the timely and quality delivery of all financial and management information and to assist with projects as required.Key Responsibilities:*Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts, board packs and forecasts *Preparation of statutory accounts. Preparation of UK & overseas regulatory and tax returns and filings for various entities*Preparation of financial, capital and liquidity management monitoring*Dealing with insurance matters*Champion the use of finance systems and ensure that best practice is embedded in all reporting*Challenge existing processes, focusing on creating efficiencies through smarter working practices*Provide cover for other accounting team members*Liaise with internal and external parties*Preparation of ad-hoc reports About You:*Qualified Accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) is essential*Experience of working in Investment Management is a pre-requisite for this role *Experience of accounts preparation, ideally including management accounts / board papers, regulatory returns and VAT / Tax returns*Commercial awareness with attention to detail*Analytical with strong technical accounting skills*Ability to work to strict deadlines and ability to manage own workload*First class communication skills - both written and verbal*Adaptable and ability to work well in a team*Problem solving skills*Excellent systems skills (particularly financial analysis and reporting tools)Applications by the 17th July 2014
