Java Developer - Large Financial Institution -Chicago

We are currently looking for a Java developer to come in and lower the latency of the real time data feeds that delivers mission critical information to our trading team. We have recently completed our newest API in Core Java and are looking to optimize its speed and operating procedures. This role is located right downtown and for one of the most well known financial institutions here in Chicago. You would have the chance to join a very small and tight knit group of developers while recieveing the stability and benefits offered by a larger firm.

Role:

-60% hands on Java development with 40% trouble shooting and support
- This team is just used as an information pass through so no database knowledge is required

Skills:

Strong Core Java Programming in a concurrent or multithreaded data delivery system

Working Knowledge of Unix/Linux

Unix/Shell Scripting is a big selling point

Financial background is helpful but not a must- knowledge of derivatives, options, exchanges

Socket programming and low latency experience would set you a step above the rest
