For a long term project (contract to perm most likely) at our client site in Zurich, a globally acting investment company, we are looking for an experienced

CORE BUSINESS APPLICATION SUPPORT ENGINEER (2881)

You will be part of the IT team with end-to-end responsibility for our clients global application landscape together with external business partners and your colleagues.
The IT vendor and SLA management will therefore fall within your remit to the same extent as application, database and storage management.

You will provide and manage processes to ensure data quality, interface validation and integrity control and ensure their compliance with the applicable requirements. In addition, you will actively manage configuration and patch life cycles and support and maintain business applications. As a member of the IT team, you will participate in various projects and ensure deputizing arrangements are in place with your colleagues.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A CANDIDATE WITH THE FOLLOWING PROFILE:

- A university degree (Bachelor) in Computer Science or Information Technology
- AT LEAST EIGHT YEARS OF HANDS-ON (IE NON-MANAGERIAL) EXPERIENCE, FOR EXAMPLE AS A DATABASE, APPLICATION OR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR IN A MICROSOFT LANDSCAPE; THIS SHOULD IDEALLY HAVE BEEN WITH A FINANCIAL SERVICES PROVIDER, INVESTMENT BANK OR PRIVATE EQUITY COMPANY
- FLUENCY IN VARIOUS PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES, SQL AND EXPERIENCED WITH R, SPSS OR MATHEMATICA
- Familiarity with network administration, enterprise architecture and data warehousing are a plus
- Bright, fast, positive and motivated, with a clear can-do, will-do' attitude
- Creative and capable of thinking and acting outside the box
- Interested in personal development
- Excellent communicator who is skilled in giving presentations
- Very good written communication skills in English; German is an advantage
