Copywriter/Web Content Writer

COPYWRITER/WEB CONTENT WRITER required for excellent CONTRACT opportunity with PUBLIC SECTOR organisation for 6 MONTHS INITIALLY in EDINBURGH

Duties will include:

- Build relationships with content providers (subject matter experts) and negotiate with and educate them to ensure content meets user needs and follows editorial and publishing standards
- Research, write, review, edit and publish content to strict deadlines
- Improve digital content by suggesting new content formats to improve user experience
- Communicate decisions and concepts to SG colleagues and senior leaders and help build a culture of continuous improvement
- Provide weekly reports to Transition Managers - communication of progress, successes and identification of relevant risks and issues

Experience required:

- Good knowledge of usability and accessibility standards for digital content, the reasons for them and how to apply them in practice
- Experience of using the principles of plain English to edit complex information into content that is concise, accurate, relevant and suitable for a non-specialist audience
- Good creative and writing skills and experience of using a style guide to produce consistent content to tight deadlines
- Experience of using CMS to create and manage online content

Candidates will be required to either already hold a valid Disclosure Scotland certificate or be willing and able to apply for one prior to CV submittal to the client.
