Copywriter/Web Content Manager - Public Facing Websites - London

EXPERIENCED COPYWRITER/WEB CONTENT EDITOR/WEB CONTENT MANAGER required for Government department based in London.

The client is transitioning its corporate website to the Government single domain GOV.UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all content forming part of the transition meets the clients needs and is compliant with GOV.UK style guide.

CANDIDATES MUST DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING:

EXPERIENCE OF WRITING CONTENT FOR A PUBLIC FACING WEBSITE (MUST BE ABLE TO PROVIDE EXAMPLES)

EXPERIENCE OF WORKING WITH CONTENT MANAGEMENT TOOLS ON A PUBLIC WEBSITE.

EXCELLENT KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE INTERNET AND SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS

Excellent communication and team working skills with a flexible and adaptable approach to work

Ability to work to tight deadlines

Any experience of working within the government/public sector or working on the GOV.UK website is highly desirable, along with experience of working on business-to-business web content.

A formal Copywriting qualification would also be advantageous

In addition the role will involve working with the Government Digital Service (GDS) and internal staff to identify content that needs to be written for/updated on GOV.UK. Working with user to produce user centric content, reviewing and critiquing content and acting as a second pair of eyes for content produced by other staff members.
