COO Finance Lead

6 Month Initial contract

What the role offers:

The COO Finance Lead is responsible for all Financial Management related activities for a newly formed team. This will including the following (Financial reporting, Budgeting, Forecasting, Cost Control, Accruals and Maintenance of Financial reporting hierarchies eg cost centres, divisions etc..)

Specific outcomes expected from the role include:

* Review Foreign Exchange Neutral (FXN) Cost Centre (c/c) Report and follow up on issues.
* Analyse & Distribute Monthly Finance Actual Reports.
* Analyse individual cost centre worksheets and General Ledger (GL) extract if required.
* Investigate further with senior executives and Finance Business Partners if required.
* Summarise the Reports for senior team members and distribute.
* Respond to senior executives queries as required.
* Agree & Maintain Budgets.
* Manage the budget submission process, facilitate input from senior executives and work with Risk COO and Finance Business Partners to ensure that the budgets are submitted and assigned correctly.
* Work with Finance to understand confirmed budgets and communicate budgets to senior executives.
* Calculate, agree and approve budget transfers in/out of the division and between internal departments
* Ensure Budget Transfer File is always up-to-date
* Prepare & Submit Forecasts (Monthly)
* Ensure headcount trackers are up to date.
* Prepare the "Real Forecast" for all expenditure lines
* Facilitate Forecast approval by Management Team
* Sign off Financial Forecast
* Provide Head Count Forecaster FTE for Basel 3 Programme to CFO Finance
* Approve & Track Expenditure
* Ensure the Consulting Tracker provides an accurate view of planned consulting spend
* Verify Accruals
* Review Contractor, Consulting and other appropriate accruals and resolve any issues
* Submit monthly claims/recharge & check they are processed
* Maintain Finance Reporting Hierarchies ie Cost Centres, divisions, etc..
* Work with Finance Business Partners to open, close & modify cost centers as required
* Ensure that we have a cost allocation approach that is well designed, approved and implemented.

Skills & Experience Required:

* Tertiary educated, ideally with proven quality assurance and/or operational risk experience
* Financial qualifications (eg accountancy) or relevant experience (eg financial controller, COO Finance role)
* Effective communicator (both written and oral), with good facilitation skills
* Skilled with excel
* Has worked for an Investment Bank previously.
* Self-starter and able to work without day to day direction
