Controls Technician

Instrumentation Controls I&C Technicians with field service, point-to-point checkout, or commissioning experience for instrumentation and control systems. 6 month + contract project in San Luis Obisp, CA with expenses paid.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Verify tagging/labeling of the panel wiring within the panel and at the equipment/instruments.
- Perform I/O point-to-point checkout of all I/O points.
- Perform functional checkout of instruments and devices.
- Test communications for Site network, inverters and all serial devices.
- Ensure system values displayed on HMI screens located at the Contractor-work station match the values in the PLC/Data Logger registers
- Assist Contractor and Contractor's Separate Subcontractors with calibration checks of field instrumentation equipment.
- Fill out checkout and commissioning forms provided by Contractor as work is completed.
- Download program to PLC and test connectivity.

REQUIREMENTS

- Experience commissioning electrical control systems and testing wiring terminations
- Experience configuring, calibrating and testing instrumentation in electrical control systems.
- Knowledge of electrical control devices including relays, timers, motor starters etc.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings with knowledge of IEEE symbols and drawing standards.
