Controls Engineer

CONTROLS ENGINEER contract opportunity with a highly regarded firm in Houston, TX. Projected 12 month assignment. Growth opportunity. Local candidates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work as part of a project team design, implementation, control, and test of drives and automation systems
- Perform detailed system design, implementation, and testing Interface with project management, hardware design, purchasing, and assembly personnel in support of project
- May assist in startup activities
- May serve as the primary technical interface with the customer for assigned projects
- May support proposal development and presentation to customers

REQUIREMENTS

- BS Degree Engineering
- Minimum 3 years experience in control systems engineering related to variable speed drives and industrial automation systems
- Need experience in electrical design, including schematics and panel layout, programming drives, PLC's and HMI's and ability to design using AutoCAD electrical
- Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- A PLUS to have knowledge of Allen-Bradley Powerflex drives, and PLC's
- A PLUS to have knowledge of codes and standards applicable to industrial control systems including the NEC, NFPA79 and UL508A
