Controls Designer Job

CONTROL DESIGNER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in ST. LOUIS, MO.

- Substation control design experience
- Microstation
- Start working with out training

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for supporting Project and Protection Engineers and producing timely and accurate drawing packages for complex protection and control projects & proposals including single line and three line diagrams, DC and AC schematic diagrams, electrical InterconnecT drawings including SCADA, control room layouts, panel elevation drawings, Panel wiring diagrams, cable schedules, structural/electrical details, and a detailed bill of material. All work must be done to applicable CAD and engineering standards.
- Develop project specific schematics from customer design standards and templates
- Develop panel and InterconnecT wiring using working knowledge of the NEC and/or customer specifications
- Be familiar with HV equipment general function to develop HV equipment control cabinet and junction box wiring diagrams
- Be able to read & interpret HV equipment layout and physical drawings to develop cable schedules and conduit plans
- Be able to develop wiring diagrams and cable/conduit tables from schematics
- Develop detailed panel layouts/elevations
- Generate material take-offs
- Develop detailed bills of material for panels, termination cabinets, conduit/trough, and cable trays
- Provide performance based and economic evaluations, selection, application, troubleshooting and maintenance practices of protection devices
- Be responsible to update and maintain the comprehensive project drawing list and coordinate issue of project transmittals
- Support troubleshooting of field wiring problems
- Complete complex drawing packages with minimal/no supervision from sketches provided by others
- Follow quality procedures and standard design processes
- Perform thorough review checks of own work and the work of others
- Update engineers and PM with job completion estimates and status
- What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Four to seven (4-7) years of experience
- Microstation expert, willing to look at AutoCAD for the right candidate.
- Will take direction from Project Engineers
- Team player will work within a team environment and with customer, MUST have great customer services skills.
- Will work on substation design projects for various clients.
