Control Systems Test Engineer

Works with Sr. Lab Technician or Software Test Engineer, to design and assemble specific industrial control systems hardware test beds for functional and system software testing. Candidate must be able to build/wire a test bed from a block drawing diagram, yet have a detailed understanding of and experience working from electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, if provided. Wire a test bed with safety in mind adhering to applicable safety standards. Conduct routine troubleshooting of electrical wiring/circuits to determine and correct problems/issues. Typically requires vocational, military, or other education in electrical circuitry and theory. Initiate corrective action process when required. Completes all related test and quality documentation. May require long hours of standing. Occasional overtime hours may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

- Associates Degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent knowledge
- 5-10 years of experience wiring in a panel shop or machine maintenance
- Working knowledge of PC equipment and related software
- Working knowledge of PLC-based industrial controls, including electrical schematics, wiring and mechanical diagrams

Desired Qualifications

- Knowledge and/or experience with industrial automation products, software, communications networks, servo drives, a plus
- Experience troubleshooting relay logic circuits, motors and drives
- Familiarity with National Electric Code
- Previous use of Microsoft Visio a plus

This contract position is expected to be 4 months in duration.
