Control Systems Engineer

Control systems engineer/Oxford/Water/35k plus benefits or contract 3 month rolling preference is permanent.

My client is a growing Control and Automation company specialising in industrial systems integration for some of the UK's leading blue chip companies and process contractors.

We provide a range of services from engineering consultancy and Front End design to turnkey project solutions.

In order to support the company growth we are looking for a high calibre control and automation professional capable of operating at high level within the company to manage, technically deliver and contribute to the business success.

Description of the role

Since its start-up stage in 2004, the company has grown to 15 engineers and revenues of over £1Million with a solid blue chip customer base essentially in the Water, Pharmaceutical and Manufacturing industry. The company's main office is in the North West. It provides the company with first class facilities conveniently located but also access to a large network of technology based companies.

Depending on circumstances and the type of project activities undertaken, the main development activities will take place at one of our large client's sites in the Oxford area. From time to time there may also be a requirement to visit the head office in the North West. Some of our engineers also operate autonomously from a home or client office depending on project requirements.

The company operates very efficiently thanks to a modern business model, challenging the more traditionally based competitors. We have in the last few years participated in a High Growth scheme, initiated by NWDA (North West Development Agency). The scheme has allowed us as a technology based company to undertake strategic planning activities facilitated by a range of industry experts, to support the company's growth objectives.

As a result of the above we are now seeking an experienced member of staff to join our team.

Profile

- The successful candidate will be Degree qualified with relevant experience in a similar role. This could be through working for an SME where the boundaries of responsibilities are wide or through multiple roles in larger companies where you gained the variety of experience and skills required.
- You will be required to demonstrate technical competency, track record, autonomy, and strong communication skills.

Benefits

Salary: £35k per annum

As a Control Systems Engineer, you will manage and technically deliver a range of Automation projects:

- Management includes taking ownership of the project, acting as first point of contact to the customer, procurement, management of contractors, producing project programme, cost reports and managing resources.
- Technical delivery includes all aspect of Design, Configuration, Software Development, and Commissioning.
- This role requires an understanding of the project life cycle from concept through to completion and the ability to maintain high standards throughout.
- Depending on the project sizes, the balance of the above activities will vary, however our company is recognised for the ability of all its members to be "hands on" and technically competent.

Provide Consultancy/Advisory services:

The ability to communicate, present well and understand the audience is key to providing this service. We are typically involved in feasibility studies, User Requirement Specifications or to assist a partner with the design/implementation of the technologies we understand well.
