CONTROL ROOM TEST ENGINEER

For our client, a major equipment vendor we are looking for a Control Room Test Engineer for a long term contract based in Oslo.

INTRODUCTION

The role is that of Systems Engineer in the Nodnett project team, which works as prime contractor providing a major communication system for the Norwegian Government known as the Nodnett Project.

The Communication System consists of a Two Way Radio System based on the TETRA Standard, which is for the operational benefit of the Police, Fire, and Health.

The specific details of the job requirements are as described below.

JOB TITLE - Control Room Test Engineer

REPORTS TO - Nodnett 'Test & Acceptance' Engineering Manager

WORK LOCATIONS - This position is based in the Nodnett Project Office in Oslo (Norway)

WORKING HOURS - Typically 37.5 hours a week (Monday to Friday)

LANGUAGE - English, Norwegian-Swedish-Danish.

TRAVEL - Travelling to various agency locations will be required.

GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform Integration and Commissioning of the Dimetra control room ICCS equipment.
- Perform Site Acceptance Testing of control rooms at customers' premises.
- Test Case Authoring - Coordination work with the agencies and supplier to produce test cases that will be run to demonstrate compliance of the control room functionality towards formal acceptance of the control room delivery against customer's contractual requirements.

THE HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW OF THE TASK IS:

- Going through contractual requirements against test scope. Coordinate and agree test scope with customer and supplier.
- Responsibility for test documentation and test report documentation.
- Responsibility for all related documentation
- Witness the test formal test runs at the customer witnessed test sessions with the supplier against test scope.
- Coordinate and facilitate acceptance test sessions.
- Ensure that the acceptance testing content work-packages are fulfilled on time, to specification and to the customer's satisfaction.
- Generate various reports based on pre and post test meetings.
- Self-management of assigned tasks to meet required project milestone.
- Any other duties as may reasonably be required.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

- Deep understanding of TETRA/Dimetra.
- Deep understanding of Agency Command & Control systems.
- Good understanding of all technical aspects of Public Safety Networks.
- Good understanding of Test & Acceptance methodologies and processes.
- Experience of developing, testing and executing test cases.
- Experience in leading customer-facing 'scope of work' negotiations related to T&A activities.
- Good communication skills.
- PM/Reporting experience.
