CONTROL ROOM ANALYST

This EMEA Control Room is a centralised team within Global Compliance Services & Strategy (GCS&S) and provides coverage across Barclays Group (including the Investment Bank, Personal and Corporate Bank, Barclaycard and Barclays Africa). Its primary focus is to monitor and control the flow of material non-public price sensitive information (MNPI or inside information') in order to detect and prevent inappropriate use.

The Control Room Analyst will therefore be responsible for the following:

- Undertake core Control Room tasks independently, demonstrating appropriate judgment and escalating where appropriate:
- Liaise with Bankers with regard to the progress of deals logged on Watch/Restricted lists
- Coordinate and approve Chinese Wall crossings
- Clear debt and equity research against the Watch/Restricted Lists
- Update
- Investigate breaches of policy and uphold policy fairly and consistently, liaising with Product Compliance and the relevant supervisors as required to issue policy breach notifications and any actions deemed appropriate;
- Assist with the data collection/gathering in respect of regulatory requests/audits;
- Assist with the preparation of procedures/guidelines and training on all of the above;
- Participate in Control Room projects as they arise, such as Technology projects requiring Control Room subject matter expertise, working with senior team members on the integration of businesses from the wider Barclays Group.
- Participate in for ad hoc system UAT where appropriate;
- Liaise with Global Control Room staff across all levels to ensure uniformity of the above.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- University degree or equivalent
- Relevant Control Room experience
- Previous Compliance experience
- Good understanding of UK regulatory environment
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Ability to formulate and articulate clear decisions and advice in a time-sensitive environment
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to work independently displaying appropriate risk management
- Assertive and confident manner
- Team player
