Duties:

* The CE & I Design Engineer will produce detailed technical specifications for the project including equipment functional specifications and control system logic specifications.

* You will need to work with subcontractors and check and approve detail design drawings. You may also be required to check suppliers test specifications and possibly attend tests at suppliers factories.

* You will be required to liaise with the Lead CE & I Engineer and other specialist engineers within the section to understand the CE & I to ensure the satisfactory delivery of this work. Internally you will present information for design reviews and safety reviews.

* The work will also involve specifying and checking the designs of subcontractors to confirm compliance with clients requirements. The role will be based in the N West but will involve travelling to European suppliers and possibly other client sites in Europe or USA.

Experience and Background:

* A professional engineer with approximately 5yrs+ experience in the field of control and instrumentation systems design and specification. Preferably with a degree but candidates with HNC plus experience will be considered. Experience of working in the nuclear industry is preferred but experience in any large process industry is acceptable.

* Must have current SC or DV security clearance

* Ideally you will have experience of specifying or designing control systems for a range of applications in process factories together with the capability to produce high quality written specifications and reports.
* You should have experience of working with a range of subcontractors in a multinational organisation having supervised the provision of design information by subcontractors.
* Some practical experience of being involved in the testing of this type of equipment is also required.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* A high level of computer literacy is essential including the ability to use spreadsheets to perform engineering analysis and the generation of logic diagrams using Visio.
