Control Engineer

Yoh has an exciting 12 month contract opportunity for a CONTROL ENGINEER to join our client located in Erie, PA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Controls Engineer is responsible for controls design of Smart Loco energy management products, like Trip Optimizer, Trip Advisor and Smartburn, for an Embedded computing platform on a locomotive.
- Develop Matlab based control models, subsystem design specifications, failure modes and effect analysis, DFSS Scorecard and system validation specifications; Six Sigma and Tollgate process
- You will focus on system design and risk tradeoffs around new customer requirements and any field reliability issues.
- Engage with other engineers on team expected.
- Interact with Marketing, Sales, Quality organization and customers per project need.
- Develop practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals.
- Be responsible for work that is less defined in scope and has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives, which can affect short-term and some long-term business goals.
- Execute the design, analysis or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product/program requirements.
- Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project.
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
- Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
- Develop practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals.
- Responsible for work that is less defined in scope and has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives.
- This role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Job Qualifications:
- Must have a BS degree in Engineering (Ideally Electrical).
- Must have three to five (3-5) years of hands on professional work experience.
