Contracts Surveyor

This role has been released on a temporary basis initially for two months they are looking for someone to be responsible for delivering the technical aspects, relating to cyclical servicing contracts, planned improvements and repairs within the Housing Planned Maintenance and minor works team.

You will work with 'partnering' contractors to deliver a highly efficient, effective and compliant service to tenants, residents and stakeholders. To set standards to which programmes of work will be measured and monitored against. Monitor progress to agreed programmes of work ensuring quality and performance standards are recorded and maintained.

You will work with the Contracts Manager in relation to the implementation of programmes of cyclical maintenance and planned improvements and repairs to the housing stock and to provide appropriate professional support.

To liaise with Occupational Therapists and tenants over the requirement for aids and adaptations and to prepare specifications and drawings, apply for planning permission, commissioning and supervising the contractor delivering the adaptations

Main Duties:

* To undertake stock condition assessments with the intention of compiling a full and accurate assessment of the condition, structure, lifetime, features and investment needs of properties managed as part of the housing revenue account including dwellings, garages communal areas, roads, sewers and any other related property assets.
* To check new data against historic data to identify any discrepancies.
* To understand the archetypes and appropriate use of cloning. To provide support for other surveying roles where necessary.
* The Contracts Surveyor reports to the Contracts manager. This post works alongside 9 colleagues whose role is the planning of cyclical and long term maintenance of the stock, procurement of contracts to deliver that maintenance and the overseeing of the delivery of those contracts.

You should match the following criteria:

* HND/HNC in Building Construction or Surveying
* Building or surveying body professional or technical membership
* Extensive building repair and maintenance experience
* Provable track record of contract and contractor supervision
* Experience of work in a Social Housing management/construction environment
