Contracts Manager

KEY AREAS

The Contracts Manager is responsible to manage, maintain and develop contract and commercial interest for the NSWPF in contractual engagements within the Operational Policing Program. The position will need to manage contractual parameters described in agreements to ensure contract compliance with scope, deliverables and variations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

- Proactively manage the tracking of contract information, contract variations and other contract administrative activities.
- Provide leadership and advice in all procurement, contract administration and management activities.
- Ensure business objectives are met through the contract management life cycle and quality outcomes are achieved.
- Work with the Strategic Procurement and Fleet Management Services team to ensure compliance with procurement policies and guidelines.
- Manage contractual obligations such as contractual deliverables including payment, scope and schedule.
- Maintain sound relationships with business units, management and external suppliers and where required handle complaints management activities.
- Ensure sound financial management and control including ensuring pricing is in line with the contracts.
- Ensure all practices comply with anti-discrimination and Work health and safety (WHS) legislation,cultural diversity and ethical practice.
- Resolve any disputes in an effective and timely manner and according to the dispute resolution agreement including contractual variation negotiations.
- Analyse and provide advice on proposed software/hardware procurement and maintenance contractual agreements

SELECTION CRITERIA

Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with suppliers for the purposes of contract management and contract administration;

Demonstrated experience in contract dispute resolution;

Experience in analysing and advising on proposed software and hardware contracts for their impact on the operational environment;

Ability to develop and implement a set of processes to control and monitor contracted deliverables, including negotiating and integrating contract variations;

Ability to proactively manage contractual obligations and emerging contractual risks;

Demonstrated leadership and successful experience in contract management particularly in a large and complex organization;

High level interpersonal and negotiating skills and excellent planning, analytical and problem solving skills;

Ability to assess technical and business data for use in procurement processes such as Tender preparation, Tender assessment and new contract negotiations;

Demonstrated ability in managing the highest standards of probity in a contracting environment;

Desirable 8+ years of experience in contract and commercial management and relevant or associated Tertiary education.
