One of our very well respected clients is in search of a competent Contracts Administrator/Estimator for a fixed term 6 month contract starting around Easter.

ROLE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

- Financial
- Work with the Project Manager to ensure the timely and profitable delivery of the projects.
- Work with the Project Manager to review project contractual obligations and coordinate the procurement of appropriate credit checks and risk reviews.
- Manage and administer project contracts, regular contract reviews, claims and variations in an efficient and timely manner throughout the life of the project.
- Establish and monitor project cost budgets and margins.
- Utilize the AX Project System to control and administer project costs, monitor cost variances and input data as required.
- Notification of variations and submission of variation claims within contractual terms.
- Preparation and issue of delay notices and extensions of time where necessary.
- Preparation and submission of monthly progress claims to builders and clients in accordance with contractual milestones.
- Manage the invoicing/claims register and debt collection.
- Monitor client practical completion and defects liability periods, claiming retention's as applicable.
- Sub-contractors
- Preparation and administration of sub-contractor contracts and work orders using available templates.
- With the Project Manager source and procure subcontractors, labour and suppliers capable of complying with the tender requirements.
- Liaise with subcontractors to ensure:
- All relevant subcontractor insurances are current and legal.
- All have the materials and approvals required to complete their works to program; liaising with factory and suppliers in the process.
- To monitor contractual milestones and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Purchasing/Pre-site
- Assist PM with design, coordination and engagement of external consultants.
- Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure all relevant approvals and drawings have been received prior to fabrication and commencement of construction.
- Allocation of internal and external materials including project take-offs.
- Preparation of supplier purchase orders for all materials and equipment.
- Preparation of all project components for site
- Liaise with factory to coordinate timely delivery of in-house manufactured components and materials.

SPECIALIST SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

- Tertiary level qualification in an appropriate discipline.
- Experience in commercial construction in contract administration/estimation/project management roles.
- Proficient with MS Project, Word and Excel.
- An ability to plan, budget for and manage the contract administration functions of a project.
- Project delivery experience in a complex project/integrated services environment.
- Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Practical experience in development of cost estimates to support tender preparation.
- A sound understanding of building concepts, processes and the ability to read and interpret drawing
