Contracts Administrator

Immediate need for Contract Administrators for a Temporary-to-Hire positions in the Houston, TX area. Prefer local candidates to the Houston, TX area. Requires a minimum of BS degree in engineering/business or combination of education and/or experience. Requires a minimum of 5 yrs solid contracts experience in Purchasing, Contract Management, Pipeline Operations, or engineering may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Must have knowledge of contract law, terms and conditions. Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation is preferred Experience with Lawson Inventory Control, Requisition and Procurement modules is also preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop, negotiate and issue / execute Service Contracts for Engineering / Operations/ Other Departments and analyze the financial impacts for services.
- Responsibility for preparation of contract documents and work scope statements, bidding and awarding contracts for equipment and services; as well coordinating the acceptance, monitoring and performance of contracts between company and vendors.
- Responsible for monitoring contract compliance, modification, negotiation and termination. must have ability to write reports, make presentations, solve problems, read drawings, perform material take-offs, use spreadsheet and word processing software.
- Responsible for ensuring each agreement that procedures are followed for integrity of Company Contract Management Database (Upside or equivalent), Pre-qualification Safety Questionnaire (ISNetworld or equivalent), DOT Qualification where required (NCMS or equivalent) and OQ Qualification where required (Company Database or equivalent)

REQUIREMENTS

- Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, Accounting, or a related field, from an accredited institution, is required, but will consider experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of direct work experience in Purchasing, Contract Management, Pipeline Operations, or engineering may be accepted in lieu of a degree
- Must have at least 5 years direct or active work experience in Purchasing, Pipeline Operations, Business Operations, Engineering, or Project Management (total 10 years if non-degreed) and have knowledge of contract law, terms and conditions
- Must have an intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft applications (including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) for the purpose of word processing, presentations, spreadsheets and information retrieval
- Desired a Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation, experience with Lawson Inventory Control, Requisition and Procurement modules and with Upside Contract Management System
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel)
