Contracts Administrator

IMMEDIATE NEED!!!! Client is looking for 3 Construction Subcontracts Administrators for a 12+ month contract assignment in Newark, NJ . You need 3+ years of subcontracts & procurement experience supporting large, heavy industrial (refinery, process, power, chemical, etc...) construction projects. You need to be local to the Edison, New Jersey area with your own transportation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Your main responsibility will be to administer identify potential subcontractors, assemble the RFQ package, and coordinate RFQ clarifications
- Provide consultative technical/analytical & functional support in the area of Contract Management for the project management, project controls, & construction management processes
- Assist internal Project Managers with preparing scope, schedule & other technical documents for the RFQ process, negotiating, interpreting & analyzing contract's technical items
- Travel to field construction sites 40% of the time in order to administer & manage the RFQ process to subcontractors
- Assist the Project Contracting Manager with identifying, analyzing & documenting gaps in contractor performance & make recommendations for improvement opportunities
- Establish/measure/analyze contractor performance and recommend/take appropriate action as necessary

REQUIREMENTS

- 3+ years of subcontract administration & procurement experience supporting large, heavy industrial (refinery, process, power, chemical, etc...) construction project
- You must have experience with administering the RFQ process for subcontractors on heavy industrial construction projects
- You need some experience developing & negotiating contract terms & conditions specifically for contracts related to services, construction, engineering, materials and equipment installation
- You need a broad understanding of the construction industry and contract language associated EPC projects
- A BS Degree in Business or Engineering or 7-10 years construction or project management experience is needed
- A strong understanding of contracting principles and legal terms and conditions is needed
- Be willing to travel 40% of the time within NJ to field construction sites
