For our client located in Brussels we are currently looking for a Contract Systems Controller.
START: As soon as possible
PROJECT: 12 months with possibility for extension
LOCATION: Brussels
Skills:
- Bachelor degree IT or equivalent
- Unix/Windows environment
- Networker, Contol-M
- Ability to produce documentation in English
- Experience in performing restores
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work in an operation environment
- Able to follow written procedures
REQUIREMENT
The CR requires a Systems Controller within its Computer Room team, to monitor the good execution of CR Systems and carry out day to day checks to detect eventual problems.
As member of the Computer Room team, the candidate will provide assistance in the administration of backup tapes and Computer Room supplies and periodic tasks on server or network hardware required for maintenance of operational systems.
SCOPE OF THE TASK
Primary tasks:
- To monitor CR systems to detect problems by carrying out day-to-day checks in accordance with schedule
- To identify sources if incidents and make first line analysis of any problems for discussion with Supervisor
- To collaborate in the implementation of new job groups in the production schedule
- To analyze and implement restore request
Secondary tasks:
- Administration of CR backup tapes
- Interface with external tape Storage Company
- Maintaining the supplies for Computer Room stock
- Acting as deputy in case of absence of another member of the team
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor degree in Information Technology or equivalent
- Experience in integrated operational environments running on a combination of Unix and Windows Servers, including systems utilities such as Networker back up and restore, Control-M automated job scheduling.
- Hands on experience of administration of backup tapes
- Knowledge of operating systems such as Solaris, Windows Server
- Experience of troubleshooting and incident resolution
- Experience in writing a working documentation of technical procedures (English)
- Excellent command of either English or French and a working knowledge of the other.
