PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAMME
Our client, a major UK retail bank, require the services of a Contract/Supplier Manager to help on a programme of work to deliver changes to their Commercial Finance division.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Contract and performance management of the multiple suppliers which are critical to the IT Delivery of the Transformation Programme.
- Participates in resourcing activities and provides appropriate input to HR processes.
- Plans and monitors areas of work, cost and service reporting on progress using Group IT reporting standards, in order to ensure that management remain informed and work is completed in line with defined budgets and performance targets. Provides input into budget setting/financial proposals.
- Identifies, designs, obtains approval for, and subsequently develops implements and communicates processes/systems necessary to reflect organisation and business changes within area(s) of responsibility
- Manages effective stakeholder relationships within own area of responsibility to improve the overall service provided by that area; may be single point of contact for key stakeholder relationships (eg supplier/business area)
- Identifies, defines and assesses complex, abstractly defined issues/problems within own area of responsibility, referring to line manager as appropriate
- Challenges existing practices and approaches, and regularly suggests continuous improvements and new ideas that will benefit the experience of the business/customers when dealing with Group IT
- Ensures all work is completed in accordance with established processes, appropriate service standards, practices and procedures, and identifies opportunities for improvements to new and existing processes/procedures/systems in line with quality standards in order to improve efficiency
- Provides guidance and assistance to others, proactively shares knowledge and information with others, and is responsive to others' viewpoints, in order to build a skilled, high performance workforce.
CORE SKILLS
- Experience of scoping & negotiating supplier agreements, in particular framing IT acceptance criteria and support SLA's to ensure a consistency of quality & support levels across all suppliers.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Knowledge of Commercial and Commercial Finance (Invoice Discounting and Factoring)
- Wide experience of Banking
ANY OTHER INFORMATION
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to locations across the UK to engage with colleagues and suppliers as required.
